Chocolate Chess Pie!

Chocolate Chess Pie Recipe
Most of you who follow me on Social Media {if not, please do!} knew that I was in North Carolina last week for work. And although my days were long, I certainly found time to check out the food scene. After all, I can’t call myself a foodie {or what I really call myself ~see here! Forward to @ 1:02}  } unless I did. So, in the excruciating process {he! he!} of finding the best food in town my amazing friends introduced me to the chocolate chess pie.

Chocolate Chess Pie Recipe

Confession: It was so good, that I had a piece before 9am last Wednesday!

Of course, I didn’t skip a beat and asked for the recipe. How can you not when something is this good?! After a ride home, an email exchange, and some back and forth texts, I attempted to make it. Considering I don’t bake, it was actually a pretty easy recipe.

Thanks to Donna, Cindy and Lisa who shared North Carolina’s best kept secret! You, lovelies rock! And because they are so fabulous, I get to share it with all of you!

Here’s the recipe:

1. One cup of sugar
2. Two eggs slightly beaten
3. Two squares Bakers semi sweet baking chocolate (although, I used one whole bar of Ghirardelli’s Bakers chocolate-couldn’t find the Bakers brand)
4. Dash of salt
5. One teaspoon of vanilla
6. One stick unsalted butter
7. Pie shell (not the deep dish kind)

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350
2. In one bowl mix sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla
3. Over medium heat melt chocolate squares and butter
4. Pour chocolate mixture into sugar mixture and mix together well
5. Pour into pie shell and bake for 35 minutes

You can scratch all my requests from the past {I know, I know, I constantly ask you to recreate} but I promise just do this one: MAKE THE PIE! It will become your go to dessert item. YUMMY!

Happy Entertaining event fashionistas!
