Coffee Table Decor – 5 Must Have Ideas!

If you follow me on Snapchat {Endlesslyelated} you know last weekend I picked up this cross base modern coffee table from West Elm. I had been looking for one for a while and finally found the right one! I love this square coffee table. Yay! The things that get me excited, right?

So, I thought I’d share my top five coffee table decor must haves and ideas for styling your coffee table. I mean, everyone wants a stylish coffee table right?! Ha-ha!

Okay, so let’s get started.

1. Coffee Table Books—for me it’s all about getting personal. Find books that showcase your interests, your personality. On my coffee table, I have a Chanel coffee table book (Chanel’s Collection and Creations), 1001 Restaurants You Must Experience Before You Die, Domino—The Book of Decorating and of course, Camille Styles Entertaining. I mean between the food, the fashion and the entertaining I certainly can’t deny these books belong to me. Also, we should not forget that these coffee table books should be visual. Think lots of pictures, designs. This will help guests feel compelled to pick one up and browse, while you know, you get those yummy cocktails from the kitchen.

Design Tip: If you have a rectangular or square coffee table, stack the books in size order and place them on one corner. Too many, not to worry. Stack the two piles of books on two opposite corners (like I did). You will basically be outlining the shape of your table. This will avoid a messy table look because who wants that. Neat and clean is the way to go!

2. Candles—Need I say more. Go for candles that come in fashionable vessels. It’s all about styling here. However, looks shouldn’t ever compromise scent. Not to worry I have the best suggestion. My favorite ones—Anthropologie candles in iridescent jars, preferably in volcano scent. Amazing! Take it a step further by getting a candle snuffer. You know, it’s all about stylishly putting out your candles, right?! I got mine on Etsy and truly love it!

3. Coasters—A coffee table is definitely the place for drinks and if you are anything like me, serving cocktails goes without saying. So, coasters are a life saver, especially if you have a wood surface. These will avoid the water stains and bubbling effect that can be caused when too much liquid hits your wooden table. Design and practicality. A win, win! Plus these ‘Bubbly Cheers’ coasters are perfection! The perfect coffee table decor piece.

4. A Box—Yes, that’s correct. My choice, this West Elm mirrored jewelry box that I actually monogramed with me and my husband’s initials. This is the perfectly, stylish vessel to house all the messiness. You know, the remote controls for the TV, the matches for the candles, and anything else you may have.

5. Flowers—because if you know me, you know nothing gets styled without flowers. These pretty hydrangeas are the perfect touch!
