Easy Coquito Recipe with Karina From KC You There!

Today, I’ve partnered up with Karina from KC You There to bring you this delicious Coquito recipe. If you don’t know what Coquito is you’ve been missing out! It is a traditional Puerto Rican cocktail made with rum, coconut, condensed milk and vanilla. It is outright delicious!

While sharing her recipe, Karina and I got to chitchatting and here’s what she had to say:

“Growing up in a Puerto Rican household [during the holidays means] empty liquor bottles (typically Bacardi bottles) filled with coquito!” –I can totally relate!

She also detailed that, “It wasn’t until recently [that she discovered that her] non- Puerto Rican friends are also fans of the drink.” I mean how can they not be?! It’s so, so delicious!

Well, without further ado here is Karina’s version of the oh, so tasty drink!

Ingredients:

  1. 28 oz. Coconut Milk
  2. 14 oz. Condensed Milk
  3. 2 Egg Yolks
  4. Vanilla (to taste)
  5. 16 oz. Rum
  6. Nutmeg or Cinnamon
  7. Coconut Flakes
  8. Cinnamon Sticks

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients together in a blender, well. Pour into a small glass and top with cinnamon sticks, coconut flakes, nutmeg and/or cinnamon. You can also strain the blended ingredients, if you prefer less thickness. Place blended contents into a glass bottle or carafe and serve cold.
