This week’s Endlessly Elated Tip is all about making sure you are eating fresh eggs. We’ve all been there. You open the fridge to find out that you’ve missed the expiration date by one day and now are faced with throwing an entire carton of eggs (or what’s left) into the garbage. Although, let’s be honest I’m sure we’ve all mumble to ourselves more than once, “They can’t possibly be bad already, right?!”
Well, I’m here to tell you not to worry anymore. Watch on and you will always be completely sure whether you’re eating expired eggs or fresh eggs.
Here are the simple steps to keep handy!
In a bowl or cup, add cold water. Drop egg into water.
– If the egg sinks to the bottom and lays flat on its sides then the egg is super fresh.
– If the egg sinks to the bottom and stands on one end, it is still good enough to eat but you better hurry.
– If the egg sinks to the bottom and then slowly rises to the surface, in other words, floats then throw the egg away.
I hope this tip helped you test whether you’re eating expired or fresh eggs! If you need more come back and let’s chit chat. What else do you want to know? Kitchen tips? Entertaining tips? Fashion tips? Anything goes!
