Fashionable Picnic + Photography Tips

Picnic Ideas

Last weekend I was at Martha’s Vineyard and the weather was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l but ever since I’ve been back it’s been so cold and dreary. So, when midweek came around and the weekend weather seemed promising, I immediately decided that a fashionable picnic was in order.

I gathered my picnic basket along with my brand spankin’ new LGG4 phone, which AT&T sent me as part of their 4K Seconds Sweepstakes Celebration {See the amazing details below, including a FREE PHONE} and headed to the park! What better way to spend the afternoon than eating, enjoying the weather, and testing out my new phone. Insert my obsession with photography!

So, one sunny sky, two cups of wine, and about three {who am I kidding more like 100} pictures later, here it is!

The phone is outright amazing! I actually think it gives my DSLR camera a run for its money. I sort of suspected this given its 4k capture capability, color spectrum sensor, which uses white balance detection to determine accurate color and manual mode option that mimics DSLR like settings, but I mean come on.

It wasn’t until I actually used the phone that I realized how good it was. The sharpness of the photos were spectacular! Don’t believe me see for yourself + since in the past some of you have asked me to share my photography tips I thought what better time than the present time! So, here it is!

Oh, one more thing, the phone has a selfie smoothing technique, which is like instant photoshop. AMAZING!

My Top Three Photography Tips

  1. Lighting—Three words…Lighting is everything! Daylight works best but no great photo goes without good lighting. It’s a must! So, lovelies chase that sun. I promise it makes a whole world of a difference. Picnic Ideas
  1. Style your photo—I always ensure to include appropriate elements. This helps enhance your photo and the story behind it. It brings the idea(s) to life. For example, if I’m at a picnic, cups, cutlery, blanket, and picnic basket all lend themselves to the creativity behind the lens. It lets you know what is taking place, which leads me to my third tip. Picnic Ideas
  1. Tell your story—through photography, of course. Make sure someone seeing your picture knows what’s taking place, knows the mood you are setting. Doesn’t it go without saying that a picture is worth a thousand words?! Make it count. My brand is all about living an Endlessly Elated life. Capturing the story of big and small celebrations alike. So, telling my story through photography is key! Picnic Ideas

2. Upload a picture. This can be done from a mobile device, tablet or computer. Images need to be .jpg or .png and less than 1 MB.

It’s that easy! Oh and there’s more. All submitted photos (deemed eligible by the Official Rules) will also be housed on a gallery on the sweepstakes website. These will be open to public voting in order to determine a public appeal score and will also be assessed by a panel of judges.
