Five Home Design Tips That Won’t Have You Breaking The Bank!

Hello lovelies!

Last week, I announced that we were moving to Jersey City and in case you missed the hysterical video with my husband, watch here. He was so nervous!

So, in the spirit of a new apartment and of course a new look, I wanted to share my five home design tips that won’t have you breaking the bank!

Watch on and as always if you need these home decor tips have no fear I have listed them down below.

Tip #1: New curtains. Hanging new drapery will give your apartment/house a whole new feel and if you hang curtains two to three inches higher than your window frame it will give the illusion of higher ceilings. Keep curtains open and you’ll let all that sunlight in while still getting the look you’re going for.

Tip #2: New area rug. Purchasing a new rug will give your existing furniture a whole new face lift. It’s the perfect way to get your old furniture looking brand new. The trick here is to find a rug that either fits all your furniture, sofa, chairs, coffee table, etc. or a smaller one that is big enough to make your coffee table a focal point.

Tip#3: A couple of new accessories are the way to go. Think new throw, new pillows, and even an accent pouf. Don’t forget to start by picking a color scheme and making sure to carry it throughout your entire space.

Tip#4: New bedding. Your bedroom needs some love too so spending a bit of money on bedding will get you a new look without emptying out your wallet. Places like Home Goods and Target always have great options, so definitely take a look!

Tip#5: Change your pictures and art work around. Have a gallery wall in your living room, perhaps move it to your entry way? This will mix things up and make other rooms/walls new focal points. Old art work will become brand spankin’ new! A win, win if you ask me.

And that’s it my friends, five easy home design tips that will give your home/apt a complete makeover. Hope you found this video helpful and as always if you have any home decor tips don’t forget to share!

Thanks for watching!

xx,

Kathleen
