Host an ‘Adults Only’ Halloween Dinner Party!

Host a Non Cheesy Halloween Party As you know, I’m obsessed with celebrating just about everything and just like any other holiday, Halloween is no exception! This year, I’ll be skipping the orange and black, plastic decor and going for something with a little more sophistication. I’m thinking “A Stylish Hostess’, Adults Only, Dinner Party.” So lovelies, it’s time to leave the kiddies at home (if you have any) and come on over! Let’s have a couple of cocktails and share some laughs! It’s truly my favorite part about entertaining.

But before we get started, these two hostess tips will truly have you on the top of your Halloween game!

Hostess Tip #1: Want to save money? Wait a week or two before any holiday and then go out and buy your items. Retail stores usually put these items on sale since most people have already done their shopping and they need to get rid of inventory.

Hostess Tip #2: Anthropologie (you’ll see what I mean below) is one of my favorite stores but things can get a little pricey. However, always go through the sale section. It’s like a treasure hunt and you are bound to find something worth your while.

Now that you’ve been formally invited, have your handy dandy hostess tips, let’s get to it. No party would be complete without the fashionable table top, so I’m incorporating blacks, golds, and a nice pop of red. Still paying homage to Halloween but in a classier way.

Table Linens & Napkins:

I began by choosing a black table linen and matching colored napkins, both picked up at my local Target (pronounced in the fanciest of ways). They are the perfect color to achieve a “non-cheesy” look but yet still stay with the Halloween color scheme.

Halloween Decor:

Next up, I headed over to Michael’s where I bought these gold skulls for 50% off. Yes, 50% off (using my own tips!). Talk about a deal! Other than being on sale (yay!) these are super fun and not orange! I definitely wanted to steer away given that this is a chic adults party only.

These gold colored candles were also found at Target. Talk about a fabulous find! They match my stylish gold skulls, so need I say more!

As always, I picked up my pretty red roses at Trader Joes, cut them down to size and placed them in these oversize cups. The deep red roses really give off that cool, Goth vibe without going overboard.

Place Settings:

To define each person’s seat, I placed a paper placemat (which came in my Pink Paislee box) bought at Home goods. It was a perfect match, gold-foiled polka dots and all.

Plates, Napkin Rings, and Flatware:

The plates, napkin rings, and flatware all came from West Elm, which I purchased a while back. However, Target had similar knives and forks for $20 bucks! Side note: I’m obsessed with gold (a recent love affair) so I think I might go get them. No judgment please! He! He!

The wine glasses were picked up at Pier 1 Imports and tell me the “cracked” look doesn’t suit Halloween to perfection!

Lastly but certainly not least, my Anthropologie candelabra holder. This fabulous find was only $30! Marked down from $110! A big ‘yay’ to the sales section! And let’s not even talk about how this show stopper is slanted! If this doesn’t scream Halloween, I don’t know what does!

My Halloween tablescape makes me ridiculously excited for the upcoming holiday! Can’t wait to sit at this pretty table, have plenty of cocktails, and laugh my way through dinner!

Happy Halloween stylish hostesses! Don’t forget to share your festive pics with me!

Till next time!
