I write this with so much gratitude in my heart.
A few years ago, when my dad passed away at the age of 62, one of the great lessons I learned was simple—life is too short. And although it sounds trivial, when you begin to look at your life through the lense, of what if this was my last day on earth, your perspective completely changes. Your old thoughts, your way of being become completely unrecognizable.
In the great words of Steve Jobs, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been no for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
So, I did. I began to follow my dreams. Put into motion all of those thoughts that for some many years just lingered. The ideas I never thought I was capable of executing. Could I be a girl boss? Could I share my ideas on home, décor and fashion? How about entertaining, celebrating life? Would people believe in me?
And now here I AM.
2015 has been great and I’m so grateful for everyone that took a chance on me. Every company that partnered with me, that believed my content was worthy. Every magazine, website and TV outlet that featured me and allowed me to show the best version of myself.
But most importantly and the reason I write this, is because I want to thank each and everyone of YOU!! Without your support I wouldn’t be doing what I love. What makes me, me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t ever repay you but I will eternally be grateful.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Have a fabulous and happy New Year! Now, let’s go kick some butt in 2016!!
P.S. If you read this and something, even if it was the smallest, tiniest, most minuscule thought or feeling came over you, then all I have to say is DO IT! Go after it and never look back. “God won’t tie your soul to a dead end dream!”—Lou Engle
