My One New Year’s Resolution Is…

new year resolution
Hello Lovelies!

Happy New Year! Hope you are all getting into the swing of things and preparing to rock 2017 to its core! I know I’m trying!

Today, I thought I’d share my ONE New Year’s resolution…drum roll please…My New Year’s resolution is to NOT have any! Ha-ha! Can you relate?

In the past, I’ve gotten so caught up on things I need to “fix” that I didn’t focus on actionable goals. Here’s what I would do. Make a list, talk myself through it, and then like magic the so-called resolution would disappear. It would become a distant memory of the past. Please tell me this has happened to you!

This year, as I did last, I’m attempting to put concrete plans behind my goals, not resolutions. As a real example, I want to grow my business, but what exactly do I want to grow? Social media? Blog? YouTube? All of the above? Once, I’ve narrowed it down to WHAT I want to grow, the next question becomes HOW I want to achieve that. Am I going to share more on Social? Am I going to cover more topics on my blog? And lastly and most importantly once I know the WHAT and HOW then it boils down to writing out a PLAN and I mean a day-by-day, step-by-step plan.

So, I did it again. I created a calendar. One that has a day to day input where I’m tackling one goal at a time and breaking that goal down into small daily tasks to ensure I get into the swing of things before I move onto my next goal, which I will begin tackling in February. The idea here is that every month I will add one more goal onto my already ongoing ones. Make sense? Therefore, by the end of 2017 I would have, at the very least twelve ongoing goals. Although the goal (no pun intended) is to have more accomplished ones than not, you have to make sure you are being realistic. How hard are your goals to achieve? I mean, a girl needs to dream big, right?

I’m sharing all of this because not only do I hope it helps you get organized but also I want to get your thoughts, your input. How are you tackling your 2017 goals? Are you making new year’s resolutions? Let me know in the comments section below. I want to ensure that as part of 2017 I create a community (not an audience) where I share my thoughts/ideas and you share yours. So, whether that’s how to throw the best party, easy food and cocktail recipes, fashionable outfits (definitely doing more of these) or tackling 2017 like a girl boss, that’s what I’m here for!

With that said, I have some really exciting news for all of you fellow bloggers, entrepreneurs and girl bosses, better yet anyone who wants to participate. In a couple of weeks, I will start a program where I share my business insights. I’m talking blogging, youtube channels, social media and anything else I’ve learned along the way. We need to ensure that 2017 is like no other! I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Stay tuned!

As always, thank you so much for all of your support and let’s rock out 2017 without making one new year’s resolution!

Until next time.

I never really made New Year’s resolutions, but this year I’ve decided to focus on key areas and to set goals (as you stated) in order to measure progress, growth which will include assessing during the process. My January goal is to connect and converse with folks who are “doing the things” I am interested in and to book a voice lesson.

    • Yay! I love this! I want to start a “Think Tank” of likeminded people, so this totally remind me of that. Basically along the lines of my upcoming announcement. Can’t wait to hear all about that voice lesson! xoxo
